How to get the most out of the book

Although we can not dictate the way in which you will read this book, we can certainly recommend a methodology that might have more impact for you and your business. And, whilst it is often suggested to read it from cover to cover initially, we would like you to try this approach.

What we would like you to do is skim and scan every page quickly, like you are speed reading, just to get your conscious and subconscious minds engaged in this journey. Of course you can highlight the points that jump out at you as you go. The second reading is all about ‘working’ this book.

Format of this Book:

We have designed this book in a way that explores the key principles that you are likely to experience in this journey of setting your business up to allow you to take 3 months off. Firstly, it is all about you. Secondly, it is all about your business. And, finally, it is back to you again!

Definitions – context & content:

Context

For the purposes of this book, our definition of context is focused on getting you ready to take 3 months off from your business. This will be your personal journey.

In Part One, we explore what it will require of you and how you will need to be willing to change some of your emotional attachments that you have to your business. And, we will guide you through the likely roller coaster ride that you might experience.

For Things to Change, You Must Change

A word of warning! Whilst there are a lot of very practical and tangible things to address within the business, the biggest shift that will be required is likely to be your mindset and behaviour.

Content

Our definition of content is all about getting your business ready to operate without you in the driver’s seat. This will be your business’ journey.

In Part Two, we explore what will need to be in place to allow you to go, worry-free. This section focuses on the leadership, the people, the systems, the financials and the ongoing flow of sales. It is really about the mechanics and ‘how to’ put this into practice.

Part Three, perhaps a little premature for some, provides you with the framework for what might be your next game plan after you return, refreshed, revitalised and inspired to explore new horizons. However, from our experience, we highly recommend that you go away, give yourself the mental space to acknowledge, celebrate and release the past before designing your future.
